Tuesday’s EGM saw clubs vote on an independent investigation against the SPFL. The results saw 27 clubs vote against calls for an investigation. Only 13 clubs had voted in favour, while two others abstained from it. Rangers needed a minimum of 32 clubs to vote in favour of the investigation to be successful in this regard.
What do we think?
Celtic fans clearly seem pleased by what Lawwell did. The result of this vote could see the fate of the Premiership season resolved soon and due to the Hoops’ 13-point lead, they hold a strong advantage. Given Lawwell has potentially played an important role in this vote, they can only be happy about the job he’s done.
