Some Celtic fans have mocked sportswriter Graham Spiers after he recently tweeted about Celtic’s Premiership title win.
Spiers’ latest tweet concerned Neil Lennon’s comments that he gave to Superscoreboard (via Daily Record) about Celtic’s title win and how he hit back at those calling it a ‘tainted’ title.
After a meeting on Monday, Celtic were crowned the Premiership champions for the ninth time in a row. After that, Lennon gave an interview to Superscoreboard (via Daily Record), talking about the achievement. Lennon said that the Hoops have done ‘nothing wrong’ and that they have played the season with ‘great skill’ and ‘discipline’.
Spiers’ tweet relayed these comments from Lennon and said that the Celtic boss has a ‘cruel’ way of making his point about the issue.
Many Celtic fans flocked to this tweet. They mocked Spiers for his take on the ‘tainted title’ issue and his choice of words.
He’s spot on even though it’s a thinly disguised dig?

Is there any reason to call it a 'tainted' title win?
No, it is a fair title win
It is a tainted title

Would you care to elaborate on how you perceive his comment to be cruel ?

Your genuine fear reeks and it’s only the fitbaw. My goodness me.

‘Cruel’… Strange choice of word from you There Graham ..

What do we think?
Celtic fans clearly don’t seem pleased by the tweet from Spiers. The Hoops were 13 points clear of their rivals in the Premiership table and hadn’t lost a single league game in 2020. In that sense, calling the title win ‘tainted’ is unfair and Celtic deserved to win the Premiership title.
