Some Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news update involving Eboue Kouassi that recently emerged.
It was recently reported that Kouassi is set to leave Celtic to join Belgian club Genk on a permanent basis. The midfielder had joined Genk on loan in the winter of 2020.
This piece of information was relayed on Twitter by a Hoops-related page called CelticBible. Many Celtic fans flocked to this and were quick to relay their opinions on the reported transfer. Some felt that he could have gone onto become an important player for the Hoops, if not for injuries.
Good business considering what he was bought for and the fact he’s barely kicked a ball for us, he’s off the wage bill too! Take the loss and move on??

Do you think Kouassi had a future at Celtic?
I think so
No, he is a poor player
Too many injuries unfortunately. Wished we would have loaned him out and got him back 100% healthy #CelticFamily

Hope he’s not one who comes back to bite us.
Good luck to him, unlucky with injuries, never any trouble as far as we know— Mick (@supermick67) May 25, 2020
He was brutal

Not a bad player but rotten luck with injury! Good business getting almost 50% back. He was worth a punt

Kouassi had joined Celtic in January 2017 from Krasnodar for a fee of £3.15 million. During a three-year stint at Parkhead, Kouassi could make only 22 appearances in all competitions and got one assist. During his time at Celtic, the 22-year-old missed 59 games due to injuries.
What do we think?
Since he’s reportedly joining Genk for just £1.3 million, Celtic will lose some money in this deal, as they had signed him for more than double that. In that sense, one can see why some fans are concerned about this deal as Kouassi is only 22 and could have still had a future at Parkhead.
