Some Celtic fans have been raving at the latest news update involving Peter Lawwell that caught their attention on Twitter.
The Times recently reported that Lawwell was involved in the recent SPFL meeting, where the resolution to launch an independent investigation couldn’t go through as it failed to get enough votes from clubs.
The Times went on to say that Lawwell slammed Rangers’ dossier against the SPFL as ’embarrassing’. This update about Lawwell was relayed by the Scottish Sun on Twitter.
On seeing this tweet about Lawwell, many Celtic fans flocked to it. They made their delight about him very clear.

The Daily Record had reported recently that Lawwell was indeed present at the SPFL EGM and he had even delivered a ‘rousing’ speech.
The SPFL EGM saw as many as 27 Scottish clubs vote against the resolution of the independent investigation. The Gers wanted 32 votes for the resolution to succeed, but they could get just 13 votes in favour of the resolution (via Sky Sports).
What do we think?
Celtic fans clearly seem pleased by what Lawwell did at the meeting. While no one knows if that played a role in how the voting went, Celtic fans should be happy by the results. It could potentially bring them closer to winning the Premiership title and since they are 13 points clear at the top, they can look forward to what the future holds for them.
