Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported news on Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold (via Daily Hotspur): “Tottenham looked at bringing him in during the January transfer window but the deal was not a workable one then, but they are likely to revisit it when the next window comes along.”
Sky Sports originally reported in January that Spurs were considering a move for the Danish international, whilst it has been widely reported in recent weeks that the North London club will try and prise him away from the Saints this summer.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has averaged a solid 6.82 rating for his performances in the Premier League and is currently valued at £10.8 million by Transfermarkt, so he could prove to be a fairly cheap option for Jose Mourinho this summer.

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see their club sign Hojbjerg this summer.
What do we think?
Spurs are arguably in need of a defensive-midfielder with Victor Wanyama having left the club in March, and both Eric Dier and Harry Winks having struggled there this season based on their average match ratings of 6.63 and 6.52 respectively (as per WhoScored), so perhaps Hojbjerg (6.82) would be a good signing for the club ahead of next season.
