Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico after it was suggested that he will be allowed to leave the Dutch club this summer.
Spurs fan account TranSPURS shared some quotes from Football.london from Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar, in which he suggests that:
“Last year we made verbal agreements with [Andre] Onana, Tagliafico & [Donny] van de Beek to stay another season, and then we look to help each other and find the next step in their careers.”
This has attracted the attention of plenty of Spurs fans on Twitter, many of whom were quick to share their opinions on the Argentinian defender. So far this season, the 27-year-old has impressed in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League, averaging a superb 7.30 and 7.57 rating for his performances in each of those competitions respectively (per WhoScored).
Should Spurs make a move for Tagliafico this summer?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the quotes from Van der Sar and the possibility of signing Tagliafico can be seen in the tweets below.
Would LOVE any of them, but Tagliafico is prob the player we need most

We would be crazy not to go for Beek or Tagliafico

Would take Taglifico. Oman’s is good too, not sure why all the hate on him. He could serve as back up for a year or two playing in the cup competitions before coming 1st choice.

i’d love tagliafico, but i think they’d all have nightmares if they signed for us

Either Tagliafico or Van de Beek but realistically can’t see any of them coming

Tagliafico yes… van de beek yes.. but Onana no.. just has too many mistakes in him.

These Spurs fans all seem keen on a potential move for Tagliafico this summer.
What do we think?
Tagliafico is currently valued at a rather costly £25.2 million by Transfermarkt, but considering that Danny Rose’s time with Spurs looks to be reaching an end, perhaps the Argentinian would be a worthwhile signing this summer for Jose Mourinho.
