Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some old footage of Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff getting angry with referee Mike Dean following an away game at Burnley in 2019.
Spurs lost out 2-1 after a late goal from Ashley Barnes and Pochettino was clearly fuming with something that was said by Mike Dean following the final whistle, as he and his coaching staff angrily approached the official. The Spurs Web shared the footage of the Argentinian manager after it was originally shared by Football Daily, and it has attracted the attention of plenty of Lilywhites supporters on Twitter.
The defeat dealt a serious blow to the North London club’s title hopes, but Pochettino later apologised for his actions. BBC Sport claimed that the former Southampton manager ‘was angered by a number of decisions’ that Dean had made in the game at Turf Moor.
Who was at fault for the argument?
Mauricio Pochettino
Mike Dean

This was the start of the Poch meltdown…
Only 6 wins in 24 premiership games after this…— SXY’ (@paulsoxy) May 6, 2020
The start of the end of Poch.. never the same after this

At the time I was glad to see Poch give it to someone after we had been robbed. Little did I know it would be the beginning of the end

I thought mike dean incorrectly gave a corner to Burnley which they scored from. And after the match poch kept repeating “You know what you are”

Still baffles me why poch got banned for that when it was clearly Mike dean who started it…

He bought the game into disrepute, removed from 4th official duties v’s chelsea, wasn’t involved in 13 Tottenham games after this and lied about the incident in his statement to the FA. The guy’s a cretin.

Plenty of these Spurs fans seem to agree that this moment was when things started to go badly for Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, whilst others speculated about what was said.
What do we think?
It was a disappointing loss for Spurs in terms of their title-challenge and they had to settle for a top-four finish at the end of the season. Considering that, one can see why Pochettino was frustrated with the result against the Clarets.
