Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the reported news that Serge Aurier is set to sign a new deal with the North London club.
According to French news outlet Le10 Sport (via Talking THFC), the Ivory Coast international will be offered a new deal with the Lilywhites, which could extend his current deal that is set to run out in 2022. The former PSG man has become a regular under Jose Mourinho this season and has generally impressed in his performances in the Premier League – averaging a 7.18 rating across 24 appearances in the top flight (per WhoScored).
Considering fellow right-back Kyle Walker-Peters was allowed to leave the club on loan in January, Mourinho clearly trusts the 27-year-old as his first choice in that position, so it is perhaps no surprise to hear that he is set to be offered a contract extension.

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t too happy with the reported contract news on Aurier.
What do we think?
It is perhaps surprising that Spurs fans are so critical of Aurier considering he has been their third-best performer in the Premier League this season according to WhoScored, and this news suggests that he looks set to continue as Mourinho’s first-choice right-back for the foreseeable future.
