What do we think?
While Henderson has led his side to the top of the Premier League table with a remarkable 82 points from 29 fixtures, it is difficult to argue that he has been a better individual performer than De Bruyne this season.
With eight goals and 16 assists over his 26 Premier League appearances, De Bruyne has averaged a remarkable WhoScored match rating of 7.92 throughout City’s league campaign, making the Belgian the Premier League’s best performer, according to the website.
For comparison, Henderson has scored three goals and provided five assists in his 25 Premier League appearances, with an average match rating of 7.20, ranking him as the 24th-best performer in the league, according to WhoScored.
As such, it would appear that City fans have a good argument in that their player should have been crowned as the BBC’s Player of the Year.
