Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some quotes from Jose Mourinho regarding the summer transfer window.

The 57-year-old manager spoke to Sky Sports about the situation at the North London club and how he expects the current viral outbreak to have an impact on the transfer window.

Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick then shared some of these quotes with Spurs fans on Twitter, writing that “Mourinho tells Sky Sports transfers are “the last thing we are thinking” about & that Spurs will be “sensible” and “are not going to spend rivers of money” in the next window.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Other fans were more sympathetic to how the viral outbreak has had a devastating impact on the financial side of football, suggesting that it is not surprising that the Lilywhites seemingly won’t be spending big this summer.

One fan suggested that not having ‘rivers of money’ is still better than having nothing at all, which does perhaps contradict previous reports which have suggested that the North London club will have no money to spend during the summer.

Are you disappointed by the quotes from Mourinho?

It certainly seems as if Spurs will have to sell if they want to spend big this summer, but it appears as if many teams will be in the same situation, so perhaps we will see a lot more swap deals or loan to buy deals as football recovers from the financial damage caused by the viral outbreak.
