Some Sheffield United fans have flocked to a tweet from Blades-focused Twitter account @SheffieldUNews which shares a report on Muhamed Besic, who has been on loan at Bramall Lane from Everton this season.

This tweet links to an article from sheffieldunited.news which shares some comments that Besic recently made in an interview with the BBC, where he declared that he hopes to stay in England “for a long time”, citing the respect that English people have shown for him and his religious beliefs as a positive about being in the country.

Plenty of Blades fans have been reacting to @SheffieldUNews’ post sharing these comments and they have been full of praise for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international following his performances for the club this season, with some indicating that they would like to see the club bring him to Bramall Lane on a permanent deal.

Read the positive posts from some Blades fans about Besic in the tweets below.

NO, WE NEED BETTER

What do we think?

While these Sheffield United fans have shared a positive view on Besic’s time at the club, it may be fair to say that he hasn’t had a significant impact for the Blades this term. He has only featured in nine Premier League games this season, starting just two of those fixtures

Furthermore, Besic has earned an average overall rating of just 6.33 from his nine league appearances this term according to WhoScored. A total of 16 other Blades players have earned a higher average overall rating than him in the league this season according to the website, including John Fleck, Oliver Norwood, John Lundstram, and Sander Berge, all of whom play in central midfield, which is Besic’s position.

With this in mind, bringing Besic to Bramall Lane on a permanent basis may not be at the top of the Blades’ priority list.
