As many as 10 Premier League clubs have expressed concerns regarding the proposed Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United, according to The Sun. The report claims these clubs could now group together in a ‘show of force’ and demand that the Premier League blocks the sale.
It goes on to say that the club’s current owner, Mike Ashley, is growing frustrated and is considering whether or not he should be looking for another buyer. As far as we’re aware, the takeover remains in the hands of the Premier League, with an announcement expected soon regarding the results of their owners’ and directors’ test.
Here is how some of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded to the update, shared on Twitter via @ChronicleNUFC.

Doesn’t matter the other clubs have no power this isn’t about who likes who

Here we go, this is an absolute disgrace, if that’s the case they need to block any spending by Sheffield United or Manchester City in future.

Do you remain confident the takeover will be given the green light?
Yes
No
And I bet none of them are in any way more worried about the shift in power than the politics ?

This is getting ridiculous

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that many Newcastle United fans are growing frustrated by the lack of progress and the latest reported intervention from a number of their Premier League rivals. Given what the club stand to gain if this takeover is concluded, you can understand why many feel some of the other clubs feel threatened.
