Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus is not interested in the Newcastle United job should the club be thinking about making an approach for him – that’s according to Globo Esporte.

The 65-year-old formerly of Sporting CP and Benfica has been linked with the job in the North-East but it appears he has no interest in coming to the Premier League as part of the St James’ Park revolution.

To kick things off, which season is this kit from?

Jesus has had an illustrious career, a three-time Portuguese champion, he won the 2018/19 Brazilian title. He guided the Rio de Janeiro-based club to Copa Libertadores glory in the same campaign (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).

How have the Newcastle United faithful responded to the reports the Portuguese coach is seemingly out-of-reach?

What do we think?

It seems none of these supporters were keen on Jorge Jesus in the first place so his reported rejection of the job isn’t likely to cause too much disappointment on Tyneside. According to Sky Sports, Steve Bruce will be given until the end of this current campaign to prove to the potential new owners he can deliver European football. So, despite the takeover being imminent, talk of a new manager remains premature.
