A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from the Chronicle asking them what the first thing they would want any prospective owners to do.
Newcastle are currently in the middle of a proposed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium, so this post has attracted the attention of a lot of Toon fans who are keen to put forward their suggestions.
What could the new owners do on day one at #nufc to show you it's a new era? pic.twitter.com/aTvqET3gHL

Take down sports direct signs?

Also, tear down Sports Direct material all over the stadium. Would also be great if they could bring Keegan/Shearer back and involved them in a Ambassador/Coaching role ?

Tear the Sports Direct signs off

Order the removal of anything Sports Direct-related from the stadium.

Pretty sure a giant skip with those hideous red and blue signs in outside the ground would do the trick. #nufc

Issue a banning order on Mike Ashley

What do we think?
There are a lot of ideas here, but it seems clear that two main ones are for the Toon’s non-playing staff to be taken off furlough and for the Sports Direct advertising to be taken down.
If the takeover happens what is the first thing you want the new owners to do?
Rip down the Sports Direct signs
Unfurlough the non-playing staff
The Toon were the first Premier League club to put staff on furlough leave, and though the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have reversed their decision, Newcastle have not followed their lead.
There are reports that the potential new owners would take staff off furlough, which, judging by many of these replies, would be a popular first move.
