A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog for Thursday.
The live blog carries a link to a piece published by Simon Bird in the Daily Mirror. He claims that the takeover deal could be approved within a few days. This has triggered a barrage of responses from many Newcastle fans who are not convinced.

The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to take the Toon from Mike Ashley has been with the Premier League and is going through the required checks.
Do you believe this claim?
No, no one knows anything
Yes, it is getting closer
However, new evidence relating to piracy has delayed the league’s decision – so these Toon fans do not believe Bird or anyone else knows what is happening.
You lot know the same as me!! Nothing!! ?

A report in The Sun claimed that the deal would be announced on the 1st of June, but it seems as if the reports on piracy could have ruined those chances.
This led to more Toon fans expressing their anger at this situation.
You couldn’t make it up

Bird has made a claim, and it will be interesting to see if he is right or if this takeover will drag on.
