A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from NUFC 360, which includes a screenshot originally from Twitter user @albishi.
This screenshot is taken from a report on an official Saudi Arabian news channel confirming that the Premier League have given the takeover their approval.
This comes after reporter John Richardson claimed that an announcement for the takeover was imminent, and then the Daily Express also said the same thing.
This has excited many Toon fans.
What do you make of this?
Seems like a matter of time
Still not convinced
Saudi news station reporting the #nufc takeover is done. This journalist says it’s 99% complete with only an official announcement remaining. https://t.co/psAX83eIzQ

However, some are still not convinced.

They’re all quoting the express. Don’t think they know anymore than us lot unfortunately.

What do we think?
The Athletic’s George Caulkin confirmed that this Saudi news channel quoted the Express article in their report, and the Athletic reporter claimed that Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium are still awaiting a call from the Premier League.
So, while many Toon fans are excited, it seems that the Premier League have still not given their approval.
However, Steve Bruce spoke about the takeover on Sky Sports News and sounded positive, and Paul Smith confirmed that the league were ‘very close’ to signing off on the deal last week.
So, because of all this, we feel Toon fans might not have to wait for much longer.
