A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from NUFC 360, which includes a link to a post by Football Matters that has claims from Olivier Bernard on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Frenchman, speaking on Monday, claimed that he was ‘80%’ sure that the takeover would be formally announced today. (37:20)
He claims that he got this information from a ‘good source’, but this has still not convinced these Toon fans, who do not believe that the former Toon defender knows anything. (37:20)
Do you believe this update?

I hope it’s true but I don’t think it just “happens” like that. I think we’ll hear from a respected journalist such as @GeorgeCaulkin that the tests are complete first, but I hope I am wrong ?

So now I’ll be patiently waiting for the announcement all day to then be disappointed. That’s how it goes, right?

Give owa man ??? how would he know???

I don’t buy this. Think supporters shouldn’t get their hopes up unnecessarily. Otherwise if it doesn’t happen fans will be disappointed.

No chance

Doubt he’ll know anything.

What do we think?
This is a bold claim from Bernard, and we hope that he is right, and the takeover is announced, but it seems many Toon fans are not convinced.
However, journalist Paul Smith did claim on the 15th that the Premier League were ‘very close’ to approving Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover.
So, even if it is not today, Toon fans might not have to wait long until an announcement is finally made.
