A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Mick Quinn, who feels that the proposed takeover of the Toon is taking its time.
The former Newcastle striker put out a tweet asking for an update, and this triggered a barrage of responses from Toon fans.
If it ends up not going through after taking soooo long, think it will be the lowest I’ve ever felt as a Newcastle fan. We are so desperate to end this Mike Ashley nightmare #nufc

Starting to get really concerned about this now. Dragging on far too long for there not to be an issue. Could only happen to us. #nufctakover

I think Amanda Staveley, PIF and the Reuben Bros are entitled to give , to the fans, in order to quell this fever of not knowing and speculating, an indication of how everything is progressing!!

It has not been 4 weeks.
How can a process that is supposed to take 3-4 weeks [under normal circumstances] be dragging?
What do people want them to say?

Coming to the conclusion it’s just more lies from Ashley’s cronies, lapped up by journalists and ITKs alike. #nufc

Hearing nothing is the good news Mickey, we have waited 13 years so another couple of days is easy

What do we think?
The deal for Mike Ashley to sell the club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is currently with the Premier League after a deposit was paid to Ashley.
Do you agree with Mick Quinn?
Yes, this is taking too long
No, it will take as long as it takes
Since the deal reached the Premier League, challenges to the deal have emerged from the likes of BeIN Sports and Amnesty International.
The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope provided an update on the situation, claiming that because of these challenges and the fact that the Premier League is prioritising getting the league restarted, their decision has been delayed, possibly until next week.
Therefore, we think all of these nervous Newcastle fans should let the deal run its course.
They have waited nearly 13 years to get rid of Ashley; surely, another week won’t hurt?
