A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed quotes from a report in Fotomac.
They claim that Javier Manquillo is of interest to Fenerbahce.
Manquillo has made 15 appearances for Newcastle this season and provided one assist and also earned praise from Phil Thompson (via The Mag).
Certainly, judging by these replies, many Toon fans would be disappointed to see him leave St James’ Park.
Would you like to keep Manquillo at the club beyond the summer?
Yes
No
Fenerbahce are planning to part ways with Mauricio Isla and they are looking to replace him with #NUFC defender Javi Manquillo. It’s unlikely United will renew the Spanish right-back’s contract, so he will be available on a free transfer this summer. [Fotomac] pic.twitter.com/e47R5rLh9U

Massive shame because he’s looked good over the last 18 months

RhT would be a big mistake

Criminal to let him go. Best right back on our books at the moment.

It’s a shame, personally think he’s starting to show the potential that was expected from him, been great both defensively and in attack this season. Seems to have kept his head down and worked hard to improve his game despite a lot of flak.

I’d personally be quite sad to see manquillo go. Been consistently good when he’s played and gives his all for the shirt. Would make a good backup for us, certainly better than yedlin or Kraft

When fit, he’s our best right back, but the majority won’t admit it because he had a really rough first season. We should be renewing his contract no question. So reliable and so, so underrated.

What do we think?
The former Liverpool man was signed by Newcastle in the summer of 2017 and has gone to make 59 appearances for Newcastle since then.
He has received criticism in the past, but according to these fans, he has been the Toon’s best right-back this season.
His contract is up in June, and he could be allowed to go.
Manquillo has averaged a 6.62 rating in the league this season and judging by these replies, many Newcastle supporters would like to see him stay.
