Fans of Newcastle have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Faustino Asprilla discusses Newcastle’s proposed takeover.
In his post, the former Newcastle centre-forward shares footage of a selection of his goals throughout his career, while also questioning: “What’s up with the takeover?!”
In reaction to his tweet, fans of Newcastle have flocked to have their say, with many informing their former player that they believe the deal will be completed over the coming days, while others have, in stark contrast, claimed that they are not confident of the deal going through whatsoever.
Will the takeover be announced this week?

The take over will happen one day, and when that day comes it would be a dream to see you and other players from one of the clubs greatest era to return and rebuild us, because you all understand @NUFC and what the club means to our city. Thanks TINO for some great memories

What I picked up somewhere is it could be next week. Seems that the whole take over checks etc. didn’t account for something and while it’s too late to implement now, it’ll be a change following the Toon takeover.

What do we think?
While we are not entirely sure what the footage Asprilla posted has to do with his question regarding Newcastle’s proposed takeover, it would appear that opinion is split amongst fans as to whether the deal will be completed.
However, recent reports have suggested that an announcement regarding the progress of the takeover could be delayed until next week, as BeIN’s call for the Premier League to block the move, as well as discussions surrounding the potential restart of the season in England’s top flight, have given the Premier League several things to think about before a final decision is made.
In any case, it would appear that fans of Newcastle will have to wait a little while longer to find out if the deal has indeed been completed.
