It’s been revealed that the Premier League’s checks on the Saudi-led consortium looking to take over Newcastle United are not considered to be putting the completion of the deal into jeopardy, according to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail.
The Premier League had expressed their concerns regarding the illegal streaming of their matches via beoutQ, stating the Saudi based broadcaster’s actions pose a ‘significant risk’ to their revenue, and had requested that Saudi Arabia be kept on the US government’s piracy watch list, prior to carrying out the required checks ahead of the proposed takeover.
However, Hope has written that the Newcastle United faithful can breathe a sigh of relief, as this issue is not expected to prevent the deal being concluded. Here is how some of the club’s faithful have responded to the update on social media.

What do we think?
It’s clear these fans are pleased to learn that the piracy issue raised by BeIN sports is unlikely to derail the consortium’s plans to take control of the club. There is yet to be an official announcement regarding the conclusion of the deal, however, one is expected in the next few days, according to Chronicle Live.
