Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest reports surrounding Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct company.
This comes after Jo Maugham shared a post on their official page that contained an article from The Guardian revealing that Sports Direct stores have asked managers to work at least once a week while under the government’s furlough scheme.
In the caption of his post, Maugham claimed that this issue “looks like fraud and may very well amount to criminal conduct by Sports Direct.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were not happy with this news.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
This, if true, looks like fraud and may very well amount to criminal conduct by Sports Direct.https://t.co/NHOteE2bCc

Im sure the media will find away to protect Mike Ashley in all of this. They always do. They will somehow turn it around on the enployee’s. Got to to admit I’am loving the extra bad publicity this bloke is getting. Absolute parasite!

Is Mike Ashley the worst club owner in the Premier League?
Yes
No
The furlough scheme was put in place by the government so that companies could pay their employees 80% of their normal wages whilst off work due to the current global pandemic. Now that it has been reported that Sports Direct are making their store managers work whilst on furlough, this news caused a big stir on Twitter.
Why am I not surprised. Maybe the @premierleague will disqualify Ashley as an unfit owner of #nufc if the takeover doesn’t go through.

Can anyone be surprised over this? I can’t imagine the managers saying this if it weren’t true mind. People say he’s a good businessman but is he really, he’s a dodgy con artist who has obviously got rich by finding loop holes like zero hour contracts etc.

Would that be enough to fail the #PremierLeague fit and proper person test #nufc

Jail for Ashley!

So what’s to be done?
Knowing Ashley, he’ll get away with it.— JEA Bell (@LizabethAnne32) May 4, 2020
Throw Mike Ashley in Jail!!

What do we think?
The fact that these Newcastle fans are not surprised to hear about this issue just goes to show how much they dislike Ashley.
