Some Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Paul Dummett to question the player about the status of the club’s reported takeover.

Dummett states that he is “looking forward to being back” in his post and shares a picture of himself in training gear. As per Newcastle United’s official website, the Magpies “will begin phase one of their return to small group training on Tuesday”, following a Premier League shareholders’ meeting.

However, despite the news that their team will return to training this week and the fact that Dummett’s tweet was based on that news, many of the Toon fans who responded to the 28-year-old’s post have taken the opportunity to question the Newcastle defender about the status of the reported Saudi-backed takeover of the club, which is “now understood to be in the hands of the Premier League” according to a recent report from Chronicle Live

Read the replies of some Newcastle fans to Dummett’s recent post in the tweets below.

Do you think that Paul Dummett will be a Newcastle United player if the takeover goes through?

YES, HE WILL

YES, HE WILL

NO, HE WON'T

NO, HE WON'T

What do we think?

As per the Daily Mail, if this Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United is completed, the Magpies would become the wealthiest club in the Premier League. With that in mind, it may be understandable why these Newcastle fans have been sharing their excitement over the prospect of this takeover in response to their player’s post.
