A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from The Chronicle that has a link to their live blog (07/05/2020, 12:57) with quotes taken from the House of Saud website.
The report on that site claims that the deal was supposed to be announced on Monday but was held up because of the current lockdown in both the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
They also claim that the Premier League will not block the Toon’s proposed takeover because the Saudi Finance Minister has not heard of any issues to do with the takeover.
The piece concludes that the new owners are confident of announcing the takeover in at most a week.
Do you believe this report?
No, not a reliable source
Yes, not long to wait now
However, many Toon fans are unconvinced by this report because of the site that it has come from.
Claims from House of Saud website that #nufc takeover was meant to be announced on Monday – but will now be announced "within one week".

What do we think?
It seems that a lot of Newcastle fans do not trust the House of Saud as a reliable site, and as a result of that, they have dismissed these latest claims.
Mark Douglas claimed that it was a ‘minefield knowing which sources in Saudi are to be believed.’
So, we understand why these latest claims do not convince these Toon fans.
