A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from The Sun regarding the proposed takeover of the Toon.
Reporter Neil Custis claims that the Premier League have approved Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium’s bid to take Newcastle from Mike Ashley.
He believes that all that needs to happen now is for the remaining funds to be transferred, and then the deal will officially be announced on 1st June.
This has excited many Newcastle fans.
Do you think Custis right?
Yes
No
The Premier League have given the green light for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to take charge of the St James’ Park club — with just the transfer of funds to be sorted. [Neil Custis] #NUFC

Other Toon supporters, though, are not convinced.

Neil Custis said it was delayed 12 hours ago now he says it’s approved?

Unconvinced, majorly sceptical, but deep down praying. Then again it’s “that paper” – let’s see if other papers substantiate it later this hour/tomorrow

What do we think?
Custis’ exclusive report is backed up by a piece on the website of Forbes Middle East, which also claims that the Premier League have approved the takeover.
However, this contrasts with what both The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards and Craig Hope of the Daily Mail are hearing and even Custis himself, who claimed earlier this week that the deal had been delayed.
So, with many conflicting reports flying around, it is hard to predict what might happen, but since Custis has given a date of 1st June, then we will just have to wait and see if he is right.
