Fans of Newcastle have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays comments made by Danny Rose on former Liverpool and current Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers.

Speaking to the Lockdown Tactics podcast (via Chronicle Live), Rose suggested that he would like to work with Rodgers, who he played under while on loan at Watford back in the 2008/09 season, once more, stating:

“Getting to work with him [Rodgers] for two months was brilliant. As an 18 or 19-year-old, I had never experienced training sessions like that before. His ideas in training were brilliant. He is somebody I would love to play for again.”

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

In reaction to his comments, a link to which was relayed on Twitter by the Chronicle NUFC account, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they prefer Jetro Willems to Rose, who spent parts of this season on loan at Newcastle before his campaign was ended by injury, and would be happy for the 29-year-old not to join the club on a permanent basis.

What do we think?

Since arriving at Newcastle on loan from Spurs in January, Rose has made five Premier League appearances for the Magpies, averaging a disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.29.

As such, it is no wonder why many of these Newcastle fans would be happy for Rose to go and play for Brendan Rodgers at Leicester.
