A group of Aston Villa supporters have been discussing their midfielder Danny Drinkwater after The Athletic’s Gregg Evans mentioned the 30-year-old in a recent Twitter post. The Manchester-born player is a two-time Premier League winner, with Leicester City in the 2015/16 season and he was part of the Manchester United setup when they were crowned champions of England back in 2009 (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
He signed for Dean Smith’s side on loan in January from Chelsea and since his arrival he has made four Premier League appearances, playing a total of 263 minutes (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). Drinkwater spent the first half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Burnley for whom he made just two appearances under Sean Dyche.
So what have the Villa faithful made of him since he joined their club?
Useless

Disaster from the start. Shouldn’t be anywhere near the team.

Sooner he is gone, the better.

Was signing Danny Drinkwater a mistake?
Yes

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these Aston Villa fans have been less than impressed by Drinkwater since he arrived at Villa Park therefore in our view, it feels unlikely he will remain with the club beyond the end of this current season.
