What do we think?
So far this season, Laporte has struggled with injuries, resulting in the defender only featuring in seven Premier League fixtures throughout City’s 2019/20 campaign.
However, when Laporte has been on the pitch, he has averaged an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.03 in the league, winning an average of 2.1 headers per game, in addition to boasting a 92.1% pass completion rate.
As such, it is no wonder why some of these City fans have called for the centre-back to maintain his fitness, as just as his form would suggest, he is a very important player in Pep Guardiola’s defence.
