Other than the fact that the fixture is a derby, reports in the Mirror suggested that fixture is likely to be moved, as should Manchester City slip up in their fixture against Arsenal on June 17, Liverpool would clinch the Premier League title with a victory over the Toffees.

Because of these facts, the Mirror then reported that the clash could be switched to the Etihad on Saturday, June 20.

In reaction to the news, which was relayed by City Chief on Twitter, fans of Manchester City have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they do not want Liverpool to play at their ground, as fans of the club will likely just travel to Manchester, with some even suggesting that Liverpool fans will damage their club’s stadium.

As many of these City fans have pointed out, if the police genuinely believe that Liverpool fans would congregate outside Goodison Park, then it is not unreasonable to argue that they could travel to Manchester to do exactly the same thing.

As such, many more City fans shared their frustration at the news.

It would appear from the comments of the Man City fans that an overwhelming majority would not like to see Liverpool against Everton occur at the Etihad.

However, if the reports are to be believed, then it would be extremely unlikely for the plans to change that dramatically, meaning that, despite their protests, there may be nothing that the City fans can do about it.
