Who scored Villa's goal in their 1-0 win against Stoke City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season?

The statement revealed that Premier League Shareholders have “agreed to a new provisional restart date for the 2019/20 season of Wednesday 17 June, provided that all safety requirements are in place.”

The statement also revealed that the first game played will be Villa’s clash against Sheffield United, which was originally pushed back due to Villa’s participation in the previous Carabao Cup final earlier in the season.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update.

Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

The Premier League has been temporarily suspended since March due to the impact of the current global pandemic.

Will Villa avoid relegation this year?

Villa’s last Premier League game saw them lose 4-0 to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side at the King Power Stadium, resulting in Dean Smith’s side landing in the relegation zone of the Premier League table.

As this statement started to do the rounds on Twitter, it quickly led to lots of Villa fans rallying around their team to share their hopes that they will be able to avoid relegation this season.

However, there was one Villa fan who decided to focus on the fact that all of Villa remaining games in the Premier League, including their home fixtures at Villa Park, will be played behind closed doors, with no fans in the stadium.

It’s good to see that the majority of these Villans are optimistic and feeling positive about Villa’s chances of Premier League survival.

The hope for these fans now will be that Dean Smith’s side will be able to repay the fans’ belief in them by getting some positive results in their remaining fixtures to avoid being relegated back to the Championship.

Villa will certainly want to start their remaining fixtures off to a good start to take away the disappointment of their previous fixture against Leicester back in March.
