A group of Liverpool supporters have been discussing Lille striker Victor Osimhen. Reports emerged last month that the Merseyside giants had started negotiations with the player’s representatives (via Le10sport.com) and it has since come to light that the Ligue 1 outfit have received an offer of €85m (£74.4m) for the 21-year-old (via Telefoot).
However, the identity of the club behind the reported bid remains unknown, but could it be the Reds? Here’s how some of the Anfield faithful have responded.
Would be strange for Liverpool to sign another African forward for big money when we’ll already lose Salah and mane to AFCON. Pretty certain we’re not the unnamed club…

Absolutely no way. Any team have gone straight in and offered £74m! Ridiculous figure. Sounds like Lille and agent trying to cash in and get big price! Even before the virus thsts a ridiculous amount. Even more so now!?

I bet this offer is not Liverpool!

What do we think?
Osimhen has impressed in Ligue 1 this season; the Nigerian striker has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 27 league appearances (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). He has also found the net twice in this season’s UEFA Champions League in fixtures versus Chelsea and Valencia.
However, given there is no indication Liverpool are the club behind this reported bid, it would be wrong to assume they are responsible given the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the striker.
