Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been discussing the possibility of relegation should the current Premier League season continue.
This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official page that contained an article from Leeds Live who claim that Villa would be “labelled hypocrites if they blocked relegation and Leeds United’s promotion claims.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not shy in airing their responses to this claim.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

As much as I want to see us conclude the season properly, if voiding it stops us going down and Leeds and the Baggies coming up then I’m all for it. If that makes me a hypocrite then at least I am a premier league hypocrite.

If we had played equal games, then he would have a point. As we haven’t, then the club has every right to fight it. I don’t care either way anymore.

Villa have the right to require season to be finished as that’s the fairest way and then no arguments. Same as Leeds need to finish their season and be promoted the right way as no offence to Leeds but teams will fancy their chances of catching them after last year.

Do you agree with this statement?
Yes
No
The article claims that Villa shouldn’t be pushing for guaranteed survival in the Premier League as it would be unfair to Leeds, before reminding the readers that Marcelo Bielsa’s side did the fair thing when they allowed Villa to score a goal in the controversial 1-1 draw between the two teams last season (per Leeds Live).
I’m sick of this from Leeds. Their fate is as far from assured as ours. Why are we a disgrace for pursuing an outcome that assures a Premier League place, yet it’s fine for them to do the exact same thing?
Par for the course from Leeds United, the biggest crybabies in football.

How desperate are they ??

Play the games? Villa want the season finished, what’s the problem with the salty Leeds fans? We’d stay up and Leeds would do a “Leeds” anyway and bottle it..

What do we think?
Villa fans shouldn’t be made to feel like hypocrites when all they want to see is their team remain in the top tier of English football.
