It is ‘almost certain’ Liverpool are to be crowned champions this season after the Premier League ruled out voiding the current season, according to a report from Sky News.
The Football Association intervened to officially rule out the season being declared null and void during a meeting of the top flight’s executives on Monday (as per Sky News). Although the government has given top-level sport the green light to resume in June if they continue to make progress in the fight against the virus, other issues such as player safety and the refusal of some to play at neutral stadiums could prevent a restart.
Here is how some of the Anfield faithful have responded to the update after the news was relayed by the Liverpool Echo’s @DaveOCKOP on Twitter:

What do we think?
Based on the above responses, it’s clear these Liverpool fans were pleased to learn that the idea of voiding the season is no longer on the table. The Reds haven’t been crowned champions of England since the 1989/90 season and although any celebrations will have to be low-key given the current health crisis – it is evident that these supporters cannot wait to win the coveted prize.
