Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest update concerning RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
This comes after Liverpool-focused Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying comments originally made by journalist Raphael Honigstein to BT Sport (via BILD).
Honigstein revealed that he thinks Werner and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp have had a “virtual meeting” in recent weeks.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest development.

The striker has been in sparkling form, having managed to score 30 goals in 38 appearances for Leipzig so far in this campaign. Werner’s latest appearance for Leipzig saw the 24-year-old score a hat-trick in their 5-0 victory over Mainz at the weekend (per Transfermarkt). This excellent goalscoring record may have been what attracted Klopp to make the call with Werner.

If it’s true that Klopp has been in contact with Werner recently, then this could be a big clue that he wants to bring the striker to Anfield at some point.
