Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news surrounding Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in a report by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report claims that Napoli want €100m (£88.2m) for Koulibaly this summer, with Liverpool still in the race and Jurgen Klopp keen to pair him with Virgil van Dijk. However, Manchester United and PSG are also keen on the defender.

Do Liverpool need to sign Koulibaly?

The 28-year-old is currently valued at £50.4 million, according to Transfermarkt. Since signing for the Italian club back in 2014, Koulibaly has gone on to make 233 appearances for Napoli in which he has managed to score 10 goals and provide five assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that it has been reported that the Reds would have to spend a huge amount of money to beat Manchester United and PSG for Koulibaly’s signature, this news sparked a big discussion on Twitter.

One fan even claimed that he’s off to Newcastle, which may relate to the fact that the Tyneside club may potentially be taken over. Also, the Magpies have been linked with a move for the central defender.
