Liverpool-focused Twitter account @LFCTransferRoom caught the attention of plenty of Reds fans lately after they posted a tweet which shares a post that was recently made by journalist Christian Falk, who is the Head of Football for German publication Sport Bild, which links RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner with Liverpool’s fellow Premier League competitors Chelsea.

Werner has been touted as a reported transfer target of Liverpool’s. Sport Bild recently published an article claiming that the German attacker took part in a “video call” with the Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp lately. However, this publication’s Head of Football Falk has now posted a tweet claiming that Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, who is allegedly a friend of Werner’s, is trying to convince the Leipzig man to sign for Chelsea.

The tweet from @LFCTransferRoom sharing Falk’s update states that the Reds “will start to face tough competition from Chelsea” in the race for Werner’s signature and plenty of Liverpool fans have been sharing their thoughts on Falk’s update in response to this post.

Some Reds fans have responded to @LFCTransferRoom’s post sharing this alleged news regarding Werner with an air of confidence in their club’s ability to lure the player to Anfield regardless of the alleged interest from another Premier League club.

However, some Liverpool fans have responded to @LFCTransferRoom’s post with some concern regarding this update touting Chelsea’s alleged interest in the player.

Liverpool currently sit at the top of the Premier League table by 25 points and as a result, it may be understandable why some of their supporters may feel that they can still sign the player if they decide to make a move for him.

However, a recent report from The Independent has claimed that the Reds are “preparing for a relatively quiet summer” this year and with that in mind, other clubs, such as Chelsea, may still be capable of competing with Liverpool in the transfer market despite their dominance in the Premier League this term.
