A group of Liverpool supporters have been discussing an image of former defender Jamie Carragher mirroring Daniel Sturridge’s iconic arm-waving celebration at Craven Cottage seven years ago, which was posted onto Twitter.
The Reds ran out 3-1 winners that day as Sturridge’s hat-trick proved the difference but Carragher’s attempts to join in with the celebrations were arguably the highlight in the eyes of some.
Here is how some of the Anfield faithful have responded to the post.

For that season Studge was sensational! Real shame the hamstring/muscle curse hit him.

What do we think?
Whilst some found Carragher’s participation in the celebration amusing, others were keen to point out how much of an asset a fully fit and sharp Sturridge was. During his time at Anfield, the former England striker made 160 appearances, scoring 68 goals and providing his teammates with 26 assists (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
The Reds paid £13.5m to sign the player from rivals Chelsea in January 2013, Sturridge departing for Turkish outfit Trabzonspor in August 2019 on a free transfer.
