A group of Liverpool supporters have been discussing a recent post from the club’s official Twitter account which contains images of Adrian and Andrew Lonergan being put through their paces in training. It was announced on Wednesday that the Premier League’s shareholders voted unanimously for the return of contact training – so we can expect to see the players stepping up their preparations for the proposed return of the competition.
Adrian has kept goal for the Reds on 18 occasions so far this season, conceding a total of 24 goals and keeping three clean sheets to date. Lonergan, on the other hand, is yet to make an appearance this season.
Here is how a sample of the Anfield faithful have responded to the post.
Would rather have Lonergan than Adrian as backup to Alisson

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these fans are still unhappy with Adrian following his error in the UEFA Champions League tie between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, which was the last game Jurgen Klopp’s side played prior to the suspension of football due to the global pandemic. It certainly seems harsh to hold a grudge for this long against Adrian, who seems to have become an enhanced target with the Reds not having taken to the field since their defeat at Anfield in mid-March.
