Some Newcastle United fans have been talking about the future of Javier Manquillo after a report emerged.
Lee Ryder recently tweeted out an article of his. The report talked about Manquillo’s future at the club and said that the representatives of the former Liverpool man have ‘touched base’ with La Liga clubs.
It also said that Manquillo is yet to hold contract talks with the Magpies and is considering a move back to Spain, with the player offered to Real Betis and Sevilla. His current deal at the club runs out next month.
Many Newcastle fans flocked to Ryder’s tweet about this. They expressed disappointment at the news.

What do we think?
These Newcastle fans clearly don’t want Manquillo to leave the club. As per WhoScored, Manquillo has racked up an average match rating of 6.62/10, ranking as low as 17th in the current squad.
This suggests that he may not have had the best of seasons at the club. And in that sense, losing him might not harm Newcastle as much as the fans may think. On the other hand, perhaps these fans’ opinions on Manquillo suggest that the Spaniard is performing better than the stats are currently portraying.
