Supporters of Everton have been airing their fury after a club announcement was made regarding players returning to training.
On Monday, the Toffees announced that players would be returning to the training ground later in the week after Premier League shareholders voted unanimously to return to ‘small group training’ (per Everton), which fans were not happy about.

V disappointing & out of touch with majority of fans’ views. The potential risks to all involved, the use of testing/PPE resources, the lack of sporting integrity, the potential damage to the game’s appeal make it a difficult decision to understand other than ££££ in short term

Is it a mistake for the Toffees to be returning to training so soon?Yes, should not be happeningNo, they had to go back sometime |
As explained in the post to the Toffees’ website, players will be back at Finch Farm on Wednesday and ‘contact training is not yet permitted’.
The announcement also reiterated that ‘the health and wellbeing of all participants is the Premier League’s priority’.
However, after the club announcement was relayed to social media (per Everton), fans continued to air their dissatisfaction with the Premier League shareholders’ decision.
This is the wrong call. I had hoped our Club might not follow the others like lemmings, and might at least have expressed some reservations.

What do we think?
As can be seen in these responses from Everton supporters, they are clearly unhappy that the Toffees’ players and coaching staff will be returning to training this week.
Hopefully, though, if social distancing is maintained as outlined in the post to the club’s website (per Everton), players can remain safe while returning to training.
