Fans of Everton have taken to social media to air their opinions on the Toffees’ former winger Ademola Lookman.
On Wednesday, @thetoffees_com posed the question to supporters over whether they felt the Englishman was overrated or underrated, which led many to share their opinion.

Ademola clearly has footballing ability . Has shown in flashes his ability . I do think he isn’t mentally strong . He’s immature and needs a role model / manager that can help him on his journey . I wish him well

I thought he would have kicked on after that goal when we beat City but the kid just thought he was better than he was and weren’t happy not being picked every week, I thought he was underrated but the coaches thought different, he thought a move away would benefit him how wrong!

The 22-year-old spent just two and a half years with the Toffees, having arrived from Charlton Athletic for a fee of £7.92 million during January 2017, however, was sold to Red Bull Leipzig for £16.2 million last summer (per Transfermarkt).
In that time, Lookman made 48 appearances for the Goodison Park club, in which he bagged just four goals and two assists (per Transfermarkt), which has left supporters split in their opinions.
Overated in his head sadly, thought he was a baller before learning his trade and learning how to play at Prem level.

Extremely underrated, every touch he made when subbed on was a quality touch, made a huge difference whenever on the pitch. Very upset he left.

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Everton supporters, there is no clear consensus on Lookman as some believe he was overrated and others that he was underrated.
However, a 6.04/10 average rating over six Bundesliga appearances so far this season, which has made him the third-worst performer for RB Leipzig this term (per WhoScored), would suggest that the Toffees were right to sell.
