Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to recent comments made by Roberto Carlos.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying Carlos’ comments, which were made to Goal.
Carlos revealed that while he was playing for Palmeiras in Brazil back in 1995, the Villans were interested in signing him but they “couldn’t afford the deal” before he made the move to Inter Milan.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the Brazilian’s revelation.

After moving to the Italian club from Palmeiras, Carlos then made the move to Real Madrid where he played for 11 years. Now that the 47-year-old revealed that Villa were close to signing him back in 1995, this news shocked a lot of supporters of the club, who were quick to share their reactions on Twitter.

With the benefit of hindsight, it may have been worth Villa paying the extra money to secure Carlos’ signature when they had the chance.
