Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments from defender James Chester.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying comments made by Chester in a recent interview with The Athletic.
On the subject of his Villa contract, Chester revealed that he has not discussed his contract with the Birmingham club “as there is no definitive stance yet.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to call for the club to offer Chester a new contract.

Should Villa offer James Chester a new contract?

The Welshman is currently on a loan deal at Championship side Stoke City until the end of the season (per Transfermarkt). Now that Chester has revealed the current situation regarding a new contract at Villa, this paved the way for lots of Villa fans to share their wishes to see the defender remain at the club for the future.

What do we think?
The fact that so many Villa fans have been pleading with their club to keep Chester at Villa Park beyond his current contract, this just goes to show how much they admire and value the 31-year-old.
