Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been reflecting on former Villa midfielder Glenn Whelan.
This comes after Whelan’s wife Karen shared a post on her Twitter page commemorating the one-year anniversary of her husband’s final regular Championship match for Villa.
It contained four images of Whelan and his family on the day where Villa lost 2-1 to Norwich City prior to their successful play-off campaign.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on the former midfield man.

During his time as a Villa player, Whelan made a total of 73 appearances for the club in which he managed to score two goals and provide four assists (per Transfermarkt). Whelan left Villa in August 2019 for a move to Hearts in Scotland. Now that Whelan’s wife has shared this post on Twitter commemorating her husband’s appearance for Villa before he made his final appearance for the club in the first-leg Play-Off semi-final against West Bromwich Albion, this opened the door for lots of Villa fans to share their views on Whelan.
