Fans of Sheffield Wednesday have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Dom Howson shares his article regarding on-loan Wigan Athletic attacking midfielder Josh Windass.
In Howson’s report for YorkshireLive, Windass suggests that he would be open to a permanent move to Hillsborough in the summer, stating:
“I’m just trying to play the best football that I can and if that’s good enough for the manager to want to keep me then we’ll see. Obviously, at the moment I’m still contracted to Wigan and I’m assuming there will still be a lot of fine details if that was ever going to happen.”
In reaction to the report, which was tweeted by Howson, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they would love to see their club sign Windass this summer, while others have commented that they feel the 26-year-old has not been given enough game time.

been fantastic every time he’s played, sign him up without a doubt.

He hasn’t been given enough game time for me at the club. I think he brings something different to the team. Pace, desire and quality. If we can get him on a permanent basis then that would be sound. Ideally a straight swap with Rhodes.

Not sure how. He’s barely played and now he’s sat on his own sofa at home.

Yeah he’s played less than he did at Wigan. At least he got onto a pitch sometimes while there ?

I’d be enjoying life at work if I had to do nothing and just stay at home

What do we think?
Although Windass has not featured as much as some Wednesday fans would have apparently liked, he has still had an impact at the club.
In his four Championship appearances for Wednesday so far, the 26-year-old has scored two goals, while averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.58.
As such, it is not difficult to see why many of the Wednesday fans would like to see the £1.8 million-rated Windass stay at the club beyond his current loan deal.
