A group of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been discussing a recent post from Dom Howson, the Yorkshire Live’s Owls correspondent. He highlighted how many goals the club’s strikers have contributed over the last five seasons prior and it has sparked much debate on Twitter.
Howson linked a recent piece he wrote with regards to Garry Monk’s ‘striking dilemma’ and pointed out that Fernando Forestieri’s total of 15 goals in the lead-up to the 2015/16 play-off final remains the highest since owner Dejphon Chansiri took control of the club in 2015.
The journalist went on to say that this upcoming transfer window will provide the boss with the first opportunity to completely reshape his forward line and Howson believes that to be one of the key areas that need addressing if the club is to compete for promotion next season (via Yorkshire Live).
Here is what some of the supporters have had to say in response to the point about the strikers, with goals from forwards comfortably at a five-year low, even with nine games remaining in the current campaign.
He can solve it by leaving

And people still think we should be giving Nuhiu a new contract

It’s simple we had the same strikers at the club now for 5 years almost all needs to go and get players in who know how to score goals monk sides in the past have all being very good teams and score goals give the man a transfer window we’re he is able to get rid and rebuild

Would you like to see Atdhe Nuhiu offered a contract extension?
Yes
No
Nuhiu has got to go

Fletcher got most of them….shocking, but if you dont give the service…never gonna score…been poor all season, right the way through…?

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters agree with what Dom Howson has had to say in his recent article regarding a need for changes in the striking department. Atdhe Nuhiu, who has been mentioned numerous times in the responses, only has until June to run on his current deal and we can assume these fans aren’t eager to see him offered an extension.
