A group of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been discussing former defender Roland Nilsson after @TheStarOwls shared a photo of the now 56-year-old in the famous blue and white kit. The right-back joined the club in December 1989 from IFK Goteborg (via soccerbase.com).

A Swedish international, Nilsson helped his country to third-place finishes in both the 1992 UEFA European Championships and the 1994 FIFA World Cup finals – highlighting his pedigree as a footballer. He also won multiple league titles in his home country as well as winning the UEFA Cup and the English League Cup – the latter triumph coming with the Owls in 1991.
