Some Rangers fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account, which shares footage of a Jamie Ness goal from a 2011 Old Firm clash.
Gers’ recent tweet shares footage of Ness’ strike from Rangers’ Scottish Cup fifth-round clash at Ibrox from February 2011. Ness opened the scoring early on with what the BBC described as “a wonderful strike” in their post-match report from this fixture.
Some of the Rangers supporters who have been responding to this tweet have been sharing some positive reactions to this classic strike, with one Gers fan describing this goal as a “screamer”. Meanwhile, some Rangers supporters have taken this opportunity to share their belief that Ness, who was a teenager at the time, never lived up to the potential that they believe he showed early on in his career.

He had all the attributes to be an absolute star. Sadly poor moves and injuries prevented that .
What a goal though!

What do we think?
Despite scoring this memorable goal in an Old Firm match, this would ultimately end up being one of just two goals that Ness would score in all competitions in a total of 18 first-team appearances in his Rangers career. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Gers fans may feel that the 29-year-old, who currently plays for Dundee, may have failed to live up to his potential.
