Some Rangers fans have taken to social media recently to react to reports that Spanish giants Real Madrid are allegedly interested in Gers playmaker Ianis Hagi.

Daily Record Sport recently posted a tweet sharing a link to an article which reported on these claims regarding Real’s alleged interest in Hagi. The Scottish publication claims that the reports linking Los Blancos with a move for the Romanian international originated from Spanish outlet Don Balon.

Don Balon has reported that Madrid are keeping an eye on the young Romanian playmaker, who has allegedly impressed the Spanish side with his impressive performances in the Europa League this term, having scored two goals and provided one assist in three Europa League appearances for Rangers thus far during the 2019/20 campaign.

The Spanish publication also claims that Real Madrid may be prepared to pay a fee worth just under £9m in order to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

These reports have recently surfaced despite the fact that Hagi only joined Rangers on loan as recently as January in a deal that includes an option for the Scottish club to bring Hagi to Ibrox on a permanent basis, as per BBC Sport

What do we think?

Hagi has scored three goals and made two assists in 12 appearances for Rangers in all competitions since joining the club in January. The 21-year-old playmaker has also earned an average overall rating of 7.35 from his three Europa League appearances for the Gers, as per WhoScored.com. This gives the Romanian the second-highest average overall rating that has been achieved by any Rangers player in the competition this term.

Should these reports prove true, a move to Real Madrid may prove tempting for the Romanian international, especially considering that his father, Gheorghe Hagi, played for Los Blancos.
