Some Rangers fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Scottish Sun Sport which claims that their club have only got a “one per cent chance” of ending this season as SPFL champions.
This tweet shares a link to an article which states that Rangers are in “with just a 1.13% chance of claiming their first major trophy since 2011”, according to data that was allegedly provided by football statistics company Euro Club Index.
This claim has caught the attention of many Rangers fans, some of whom have been reacting to this tweet by sharing that they feel it may still be too soon for the 2019/20 title race to be written off, despite the fact that they currently trail by 13 points in the league.

There’s a chance, therefore the season must be declared null & void in the interests of sporting integrity ??

What do we think?
As seen in the tweets above, some Rangers fans have recalled 2005’s ‘Helicopter Sunday’ in response to the claims that they’ve got just a one per cent chance of winning this season’s SPFL title.
‘Helicopter Sunday’ was a day that saw Rangers win the 2004/05 title on the final day of the season, despite going into that game trailing Celtic by two points. As explained by the BBC, that day was named ‘Helicopter Sunday’ because the pilot who was carrying the league trophy “had to do an abrupt U-turn” as two late goals for Celtic’s opponents on the day “destroyed Celtic’s championship hopes and handed the SPL title to Rangers”.
With the events of ‘Helicopter Sunday’ in mind, it may be understandable why some Rangers fans may be hesitant to write their team off too soon.
